Tallboys Band of Expats is Gaining Notoriety

Serendipity and The Tallboys Band

It’s funny how things come together in Mexico sometimes, the people you meet and the ways you meet them in Mexico always seem to lead to something when it comes to making expat friends down here.  The Tallboys Band based out of Ajijic, Mexico just south of Guadalajara on Lake Chapala certainly fill the bill for coming together in a serendipitous manner.

The 4 members had at least 2 things in common  from the beginning; music and Mexico, and when they finally came together it became a band of natural selection and common ground.  All the band members share a love for music and Mexico and clearly a passion for good living, good beer and tequila, when musicians are mixed with tequila this is how many bands get formed…this is my own theory, but I doubt you’d get too much argument from the Tallboys on that point!

The local band plays regular gigs in and around the Lake Chapala area, San Miguel de Allende and central Mexico but their reach and popularity continues to grow.  They have a trip to Merida on the Yucatan planned and they now often travel back to the US for gigs in Texas, including Austin, Laredo and San Antonio where their Mexican infused rock has many Americans longing for the relaxed life south of the border.

Tallboys Band GuitarTheir 70’s flavored rock and roll features covers of great songs we all grew up with and loved, along with new music originals. Their original music is all about beer, tequila, good food, fun times and the kicked back Mexican lifestyle. It’s also about living life through all the good times and bad. It’s about putting world weary cares behind us. It’s about escape and living … really living before it’s too late.

If you are anywhere in Mexico and want to check out an entertaining and talented group of musicians who came together by chance, make sure you check their website  for the next gig and plan for a good time with good music and good people enjoying and living life to the fullest!
